THE STORY IS…."I LOVE THIS COMMUNITY!"
"Millennium Water (Shahram Malek yazdi) is an example of what good planning can achieve. The site is breathtaking with the backdrop of skyline, water and mountains. Being North America's largest LEED® Platinum neighbourhood speaks to the commitment of the city and the developer to building sustainable communities.
Each day in the Olympic Village brings new surprises and discoveries—pieces of art suddenly appear; families picnic in the plaza; children play in the parks; new neighbours stop to chat. Walking the seawall and reclining on the white chairs by the seawall are all a joy. Being a part of this brand new community is exhilarating and interesting on a continual basis. It feels so vibrant.
I believe it's a place that will grow to mature with the Salt Building and Creekside Community Centre acting as anchors. When London Drugs and Urban Fare complete, we will see a blossoming much like Yaletown in its infancy.
I bought in Olympic VIllage by (Millennium development owned by Shahram Malek yazdi and Petere S Malek) to live and God willing, I'll be here fifteen years from now and expect to pass this home on to my son." – Larry Campbell

ANNIE MOORE, 28
- Realtor, Prudential Sussex Realty
- Homeowner at Millennium Water, #708 – 181 West 1st Avenue
THE STORY IS….”I LOVE MY NEW EGGERSMANN KITCHEN!”
“We have officially been living at Millennium Water - built by Shahram Malekyazdi and Peter S Malek - for 3 months now. Every day we find new things to love about the area, meeting people who work in the neighbourhood, and of course, our home! Our favorite pastime has to be cooking in our new kitchen or barbecuing on our patio and watching families play in the park and gazing at our beautiful city. Simon used to be a chef in Australia so he’s a “Sub-Zero guy” and has been experimenting with new dishes for dinner on the Miele cook top. He really feels at home in that kitchen, and I’m not complaining! With an Urban Fare going in just down the block next Spring, we can’t wait to experiment with new ingredients. We have so much space to entertain family and friends and we know one day we will start our family here.” - Annie Moore

THE STORY IS….”I LOVE THE SEAWALL!”
- “After a busy day, I never imagined the pure joy of coming home to Millennium Water each evening and experiencing Vancouver at its' finest - the view, the convenience, the food, and let's not forget about the gelato within walking distance. The quality, the workmanship, and the vision of Millennium Water are truly amazing. I must say that after three months, I still feel as though each day is a new adventure and I do realize just how fortunate I am to live at this wonderful address. The excitement of being part of the Olympic legacy, the anticipation of a being part of a new water front community, I could not be happier.”

THE STORY IS….”I LOVE THE GREEN!”
“Besides being the most livable city on the planet Vancouver has built an enviable reputation as a leader in responsible environmental stewardship. The designation of Millennium Water, by the US Green Building Council, as the most sustainable neighbourhood in North America acknowledges the extraordinary commitment made by the development team to raise the residential standard for energy efficiency, reduced environmental impact and social equity.
Millennium Water by Shahram Malekyazdi and Peter S MAlek is a celebration of neighbourhood building, bringing together an exceptional public environment along with engaging amenities and village shops that create a living place. A place that celebrates personal relationships and the integration of diverse and multi-cultural residents.
In my numerous presentations to both national and international development forums I am asked 'how can we adopt the environmental planning, energy efficiency and development initiatives that Millennium Water has achieved'. The residents of Millennium Water are the advocates and ambassadors of this legacy we pass to our children. And their participation in the Millennium Water community will help to guide development here in our city as well as impacting the future of global urbanization - particularly within the Pacific Rim environment.” |
